Captain George Lewis Browne, William Hubber and the Battle of Trafalgar

Captain George Lewis Browne was a member of the Unitarian Chapel in Dampiet Street and is now buried in the old Wembdon Road cemetery.  He fought alongside Nelson on the Victory at the Battle of Trafalgar and was present at his funeral.  Another Bridgwater man, William Hubber, a sailor, died at his home in Monmouth Street on 7 November 1859, aged 103.  At the time of his death, he was in receipt of poor relief, but in his prime he was another Bridgwater man who fought at the Battle of Trafalgar.
